Lady Saints Breaking Out

    With their 3rd official season underway, the Lady Saints are continuing their growth as the only girls hockey program in San Diego in more ways than one. Not only is the girls program looking to expand in number, but also in showcasing players in premier tournaments to prep schools and universities.

    This season, the Lady Saints 16u team will be traveling to Connecticut to compete in the prestigious Polar Bears tournament; a premier girls tournament which is heavily attended by prep, university and even olympic coaches.

    The team worked hard in the off-season to recruit both experienced players as well as new blood to the game. This past summer, players from the Lady Saints joined together and initiated "Go Girl Go" to bring health and nutritional awareness to young girls and stir an interest in the Lady Saints program. The pilot program was a success ast the girls were able to earn a financial grant from the Women's Sports Foundation.

    In additon to the older Lady Saints group, the ladies are also working hard to build a 10u group and build for the future. Interested players should contact coach Kim Abrahams at: kimberlydpt@yahoo.com
